Park + Resort / True Twin / Traditional Camber

The Dark Horse is a new wallet-friendly iteration of the team-favorite Outsiders that crushes park jumps, side hits, and freestyle features.

Pared down with only technical components you need in an array of standard and wide sizes – Dark Horse leverages its dynamic design to deliver maximum power and performance.

The Dark Horse maximizes the power potential of a lightweight and energetic board in a budget friendly construction. It delivers the pop and power, demanded by progressive freestyle riders through its tried and trusted combination of Dual Core™ and Special Blend Fiberglass further enhanced with 2 x 30mm Carbon Aramid Boosters.

Board Type: Freestyle

Freestyle snowboards are built for park riders and those who love performing tricks on jumps, rails, and side hits.

Flex: 6/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)

Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.

Ability Level: Intermediate

Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.

Shape: Twin

A twin-shaped snowboard is symmetrical with an identical tip and tail, designed for equal performance riding forward or switch. It’s perfect for freestyle tricks, spins, and jumps, offering balance, stability, and control in both directions.

Camber Type: Park V1

CAPiTA's Park V1 profile transitions from traditional camber to zero camber 4cm before the end of the sidecut. These zero-camber sections enhance control while maintaining the responsiveness and power of a classic cambered board.

Sidecut: Radial

CAPiTA's Radial sidecut uses a single-radius design, enabling the board to initiate and complete a turn along the same arc.

Inserts: 2x4 Inserts

These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments.

Board Construction

Topsheet: Pearlescent Screen and Gloss/Matte Print

CAPiTA creates their incredibly detailed and vibrant topsheet designs using a combination of digital and hand screen printing methods. Their PAM16000 Printing technology utilises 16,000 individual inkjet nozzles to produce flawless digital graphics with solventless, water-based UV ink—delivering exceptional accuracy, quality, and speed. Additionally, every CAPiTA topsheet includes a portion that is silkscreened through a hand screen printing process, adding unique texture and depth to the final design.

Laminate: Special Blend Fiberglass with Magic Bean Resin and 2x30mm Carbon Aramid Boosters

This construction incorporates an ideal blend of bi-axial fiberglass above and below the core, measured for optimal performance, and is laminated with structural additives to fine-tune ride characteristics creating an easy to ride board that offers high degrees of forgiveness.

The Magic Bean resin system, developed over three years, is plant-based with high bio-content, zero waste, and no greenhouse emissions. It requires low production temperatures while delivering high yield, strength, and durability. Its enhanced rigidity allows for a thinner wood core, reducing weight while increasing energy return for a lighter, more responsive board.

Carbon fiber is known for its strength, lightness, and heat resistance. CAPiTA customises its properties, amount, and location in the board to boost power and responsiveness while maintaining an ultra-lightweight design. Carbon Aramid is a combination of carbon and aramid to offer all the properties of carbon with the high tensile strength and impact resistance of Aramid.

Core: Dual Core

CAPiTA's Dual Core is a lightweight, responsive Poplar core paired with Beech for enhanced power and durability.

Base: Superdrive Base - Screen Print

The Superdrive base combines the best of both sintered and extruded materials, offering a balance of durability, speed, and low maintenance. Built under higher pressure and temperature, it’s tougher than traditional extruded bases, making it ideal for park laps, all-mountain riding, and everyday shredding.
